death tribble
It is all over the news over here. Political campaigning for local elections has been cancelled. There will be mourning for about a month. And it is good that it will be President Biden who sends condolences and not you know who. 2 minutes ago, Cancer said: Sigh. How long will the Queen outlive him? RIP, sir. That is a concern. But if she lasts for at least 3 and a half years she will be the longest reigning monarch. unclevlad
I also wonder if she will choose to abdicate after the period of mourning is over. She'll be 95 in less than 2 weeks. No one's going to say much if she chooses to do so, after this has happened. Whenever her reign ends, voluntarily or not, it will close an era. Christopher R Taylor
I feel sorry for the queen, they seemed very close. I wouldn't be surprised if she followed him soon. death tribble

Abdicate is a word you don't use around the Queen. Her uncle did and that made her father King. It left bad blood behind. The Queen is driven by duty so no abdication. He could not imagine anything worse as bits of him were falling off already. And he seems to have been true to his word.
