unclevlad
Well, that wouldn't be the only option, but they tried one in Detroit, and my understanding was...it wasn't the best. Not the game; I don't recall that one at all. But the other events around the game. Not exactly like Detroit is an ideal late-winter location. unclevlad
Has the NFL fundamentally conceded in the Flores case? https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-commissioner-roger-goodell-results-of-efforts-to-promote-diversity-within-he Doesn't mean the teams have, but this sure feels like the league's agreeing with Flores. Pariah
I'm watching the pro Bowl on TV right now, and they're literally playing touch football. Which is fine. I get that you don't want to get yourself (or your multimillion-dollar quarterback) injured in an All-Star game. But if you're going to play touch football, why put on the pads and the helmets? Let's see the players' faces!
unclevlad
Hard cuts still lead to blown out knees and ankles. So why even play the game at all? Absolutely the most ridiculous headline of the 21st century...from no less than NFL.com: 2022 Pro Bowl: What we learned from AFC's win over NFC
Pariah
I saw an interesting article today saying that sunday's Super Bowl could be the hottest in history, based on the fact that the multi-billion dollar SoFi Stadium doesn't actually have heating or air conditioning. Logan D. Hurricanes
Congrats to Tony Boselli, the first Jag in the Pro Football Hall of Fame! And the rest of the 2022 HOF class, I guess.

unclevlad
In case you were wondering... Just saw on CNN Business. 30 second spot during the Super Bowl will run ya.... Wait for it... Are you sitting down? Sit down. Really. . . . $7,000,000 For a 30 second spot.

Old Man
Your eyeballs are, anyway. This is the day. Honestly I’m not expecting much of a game—this is the best defensive line in football against one of the worst offensive lines in football. Burrow will be running for his life all afternoon. That said, he does get the ball out quickly, which is why the Bengals have a nonzero chance of pulling it off. And even if they don’t, they are a historically young Super Bowl team with lots of cap space, so there is plenty of room to improve over the next few seasons. If Burrow doesn’t get permanently smeared into the turf.
Pariah
I just hope that Joe Burrow doesn't become this generation's Dan Marino.

death tribble
The BBC's main coverage starts with The Rock doing an introduction. so I missed the coin toss and the anthem. Did anyone I know sing it (not any of you, the person on the field) ?
death tribble
The Rams score the first touchdown and extra point

death tribble
The Bengals score a field goal. It was disappointing as they got a big play and they should have got a touchdown
death tribble
So the Rams score a touchdown but foul up the extra point. Then the Bengals get down the field and score a touchdown and score the extra point. This is making the whole thing more competitive. death tribble
Last time they were in the Superbowl one of the Bengals had a horrific leg injury. Wish Beckham Junior a good recovery.
Old Man
Well it’s within a field goal at the half, Bengals have the kicker for that kind of game.
death tribble
Not bad for a half time show. And as Mary J Blige is East Coast and the others are West Coast, not a bad blend. It cuts out the bitter rivalry that cost two people their lives. The show had to be good as Dre is a perfectionist.
Old Man
Or a cornerback could fall down, that works too.
unclevlad
Or the cornerback's face mask can get yanked. HATE when a major game is so strongly affected by a missed call. WHOAAA...then a slightly mis-targeted throw to a pick... Oh my, da Bengals be roaring...
death tribble
On the play back you can see face mask but I did not see it in normal time. Then we have an intercept and the Bengals get a Field Goal. They are now a touchdown ahead.
