Tywyll
How would you handle someone grabbing someone else who has been grabbed by a third party. Like a flyer or speedster swooping in an pulling somone out of a swarm of grabbers or something. Would the flyer get a passive strength check to shake the grabbers off the target? Say Superman flies down and sees Lois being grabbed by Wrestlers. He successfully performs a Grab By on her to pull her free. He is strong enough to carry both her and the 2 or 3 wrestlers who made Grab attackers previously on her. How does he get her free? Does he have to make individual attacks against each in flight? Could he make a Passive Strength check to shake them off?
Greywind
Well, the wrestlers going along for the ride might have to make ego rolls once they realize what happened to stay on the ride.
Tjack
I’d say passive strength is half of a subjects regular strength. Think of a kid walking down a school hallway and a passing bully slaps down on the books full strength, knocking them out of the kids hands. This way you only have to worry about two normal Str. parties instead of three Supers plus velocities.
Grailknight
Yes, he'd have to make a passive STR check against each grabber who wanted to hang on. Alternatively, he could make a Passing Disarm against each to get control of her.
Ninja-Bear
Sounds like a good use of a Hero Point! However in the Martial Art rules there are rules for pushing against multiple opponents at once. Basic figure out a group strength total-look at what they could lift total and convert to Strength. So two normals (STR 10) has a combined total of 15 STR. Then this total is what the character goes against.
Spence
Oh, you mean Casual Strength. I was all confused and stuff Casual Use is supposed to be the casual use of something, in this case strength, by the character against things directly affecting them. Not the attempting of a specific "attack" on a target. Superman casually shrugging off grabbers trying to grab him as he passes without using an action - yes, that is Casual Use Superman swooshing in to grab Lois and pull her free (Grab By) - no, that is a targeted action with a need to determine success. Especially since he wants to make sure not to just pull an arm off as he goes by. I hope she is not being grabbed by Grond.
