Michael Hopcroft
Sean Connery's greatness as an actor is hard to overstate. He would have been a fantastic Lear had he been given the opportunity. As it was, he was a master at transcending his material. His legacy is worth celebrating. His passing is worth mourning. slikmar
unclevlad
This is not the kind of news I needed before coffee.... <sigh> It's the first, last, and only time someone can say "Goodbye, Mr. Bond" and it will stick.... death tribble
This is the BBC's take on him https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-54761824 7 Bond films of which 6 were official and I have the official ones. Crime films like Entrapment, The First Great Train Robbery and The Anderson Tapes where he played the villain Crime films where he played the good guy like The Presidio, The Untouchables, The Offence, Ransom, Rising Sun and Outland War films where he played all ranks like The Longest Day, A Bridge Too Far, On the Fiddle and The Hill And one of my favourites Playing by Heart But he was also in rubbish like The Avengers and particularly First Knight

That's why he retired and stuck with retirement. He spent his last years in semi-seclusion and relative anonymity.

I'm glad he ended his life the way he wanted. For that reason, and for the vast body of great work he left for all of us, I'm not inclined to mourn his passing, but to celebrate his life. death tribble
The board would like to point out that there is no proof that Sean Connery ever shaved a badger. Nor is there any proof that any of us did either. Except Badger himself but that is to be expected.
Narratio
Badger has, to my knowledge, never actually shaved a badger, he did slathere one in 'Veet' and then tried to peal it. AS I recall it took 5 hours stay in the ER, a week of bed rest and 3 months of counselling to get over what happened. But, back at the topic. RIP to The Man Who Would Be King. Lord Liaden
I actually had a dream involving Sean Connery last night. What I can remember of the plot was something like a mashup of Highlander and The Boys. assault
