tkdguy
I will always remember him as Roper from Enter the Dragon. While he wasn't a master at martial arts like Bruce Lee or Jim Kelly, he was indeed pretty skilled karateka and judoka. He once related a story about a conversation with Bruce Lee. Lee described himself as a martial artist who acted. Saxon replied that he was an actor who did martial arts. Then there's this story: Hermit and Tjack
death tribble
There are some films which are tripe. But if he was in them you would give them the benefit of the doubt. Even in the end they were still dire like Blood Beach. But he played both sides i.e. bad guys and good guys such as Roper in Enter the Dragon and Sador in Battle Beyond the Stars. May he rest in peace
Tjack
Enter the Dragon may be his most famous movie but my favorites are the two different pilot movies he did for Gene Roddenberry’s Genesis II series. tkdguy

If those had succeeded we might be telling a very different story about John Saxon.

Yeah, but Roddenberry ended up using a lot of those ideas for Andromeda. So a number of different people had employment for five years. It becomes one of those alternate universe things. Like the one where Star Trek starred Robert Conrad and Martin Landau as Kirk & Spock. (They were both considered for the roles.)

massey
Nightmare on Elm Street and Black Christmas are the two movies I'll remember him best in. And of course, the MST3K version of Mitchell. Why God? Why couldn't you have just taken Dick Vitale?

Which would have made that King Arthur movie. Albeit, that might be not saying much. Scott Ruggels
